Welcome to Eureka! Science + Discovery, a brand-new attraction in the North West, housed in the iconic Seacombe Ferry Terminal building on the banks of the river Mersey, in Wirral. The fantastic, family-friendly attraction has been created with and for children and young people aged 0-14.
Only open 3 years, and already winning the national VisitEngland Gold award for Inclusion and Accessibility in 2025, Family Friendly Awards, and the Liverpool City Region New Tourism Attraction of the Year award. And to top it all off we were crowned the 'UK's best attraction' by consumer guru's Which?
What is there to do at Eureka! Science + Discovery
If you’re familiar with our sister site in Halifax you’ll recognise a unique blend of creative, hands-on learning combined with cutting-edge 21st-century technology that delivers an engaging and fun-filled family day out and discovery experience!
Explore the slurps and burps of our digestive system in Bodies, investigate the crazy Amazing Inventions shed in Nature, and discover the wonders of our world all around you. Make your way over and marvel at our supersize cat ‘Luna’ in Homes, where you can also find out what makes a home and explore how we can make our homes better, and how to live in them more sustainably. And if that’s not enough… Did you know we have a dedicated under 7's play zone? The Burrow is filled with nature-inspired activities, especially for young visitors. Then if you're feeling creative, you can head over to MakeCreate where you can design, tinker, make and create! Let your imagination run wild. There’s plenty to keep the whole family busy for hours! If you don’t manage to see everything in just one day – fear not! A standard entry ticket is automatically an Annual Pass, meaning that you can book a revisit for free, any number of times for a full year. All those rainy days are sorted plus enjoy our air-conditioned galleries the summer heat!
Please note: All visitors to Eureka! must include at least one child in their party under 14 years old. We do not admit lone adults, or adult only groups.

Every MONDAY come with us and 🎭 AS CREATIVES as we chart humanity's journey from the ground, to the skies, and to the stars! Interactive performances the whole family will love.
Every TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY travel back in time to an era of daring inventions and explosive discoveries with the hilarious 💥Professor Pumpernickel! Packed with drama, surprises and brilliant science for everyone, this is history like you've never seen it before!
THURSDAY's and FRIDAY's mix it up with;
⛵ Izzy's Incredible Adventure presented by SCIENCE MADE SIMPLE - 23/24 July and 13/14 August. Izzy's on a quest to visit a friend, and she needs yoru smarts and skills to make it happen! Help her conquer land, sea and air!
🫧 The legendary Ray Bubbles returns with his brilliant BUBBLE SHOW - 30/31 July and 27 August
🐍 Get ready to meet an incredible selection of lizards, snakes and invertebrates from ANIMAL TEACH, & learn how animals move from one space to the next through climbing, crawling, burrowing and more! - 6/7 August
🦖 How to train your Velociraptor - think you've got what it takes to be a Dinosaur Ranger? - put your skills to the test on 20/21 August
And it all that is not enough... EVERYDAY our MakeCreate space will be a ROLE PLAY TRANSPORT HUB where kids can explore 🚢 ferries, 🚉 trains, ✈️ airplanes, and anything that moves basically. Based here at Seacombe ferry terminal we're surrounded by transport, but how does it all work? What makes it move? 🎫 Then get hands-on and creative and design your own ticket and passport! 🛂
All activities are included with general admission (except where stated)… and, of course, expect to HAVE FUN!

Seasonal Events
Throughout the year, we programme additional activities and events during all the school holidays. So, there’ll always be something fresh and exciting! MakeCreate, our making and tinkering space will be programmed with supervised workshops that encourage creativity and allow participants to get hands-on! Permission to get messy? Granted! And our Science Theatre will present interactive, family oriented, participatory science shows and demonstrations that will have everyone engaged and having fun. For quieter visits with younger children, our Little Explorers programmes run every Wed - Fri during school term times in The Burrow with themed drop in activities and crafts for the under 5's. Special Toddler Takeovers are regularly scheduled throughout the year.
Food & Drink
We bet all that inventing, exploring and creating has left your little ones hungry. No need to worry - we have plenty of picnic space indoors, or head down to our Corner Cafe in The Hub for a selection of snacks and hot and cold drinks!
Travel & Parking for Visitors On-site parking is available - £3.50 for three hours, £5.50 for six hours and £11.50 for 12 hours. Multiple Bus stops outside with regular connections to Woodside, New Brighton and Wallasey. The Eureka! Science + Discovery Centre is housed within the Seacombe Ferry Terminal with regular iconic Mersey Ferries over to Liverpool city centre - so it's the perfect place to combine with a visit to the city.

Eureka! Science + Discovery, Wirral, is a curiosity-sparking, mind-expanding day out designed for children aged 0–14, where science, technology, engineering and the arts come to life!
Located at Seacombe Ferry Terminal, this award-winning Merseyside attraction invites families to explore four immersive themed zones, packed with hands-on experiences and experiments. Children (and adults!) uncover the surprising stories behind the things they see, touch, wear and use every day, discovering that the everyday world around them is far more extraordinary than they thought!
Eureka! are champions of playful learning. We create vibrant, curiosity-fuelled spaces where children think they’re “just having fun”, but you’ll see their confidence, creativity and life skills clicking into place.

Ferry
Eureka! Science + Discovery is a short trip over the Mersey from Liverpool city centre. Hop on the ferry at Pier Head then sit back, relax and take in the views. Just remember to disembark when it docks at Seacombe. Check out the Mersey Ferry website for timetables and prices.
Plus show your Eureka! booking confirmation and get a 20% discount on your ferry ticket - or buy a joint Ferry and Entry to Eureka! ticket on their website.
Bus
The 409 or 411 bus stops right outside our front door!
Merseyrail + Bus
Those arriving at Liverpool Lime Street on national rail will need to transfer to the Merseyrail underground network at Lime Street.
From the Merseyrail network exit at Hamilton Square.
Exit the station, cross the road at the crossing and head to the left to the first visible bus shelter on Woodside gyratory. Catch either the 409 or 411 bus to Seacombe from bus stop stand D.
