How do I play an escape game?

You and your team of between 2 to 6 people will be "locked" in a room for an hour. You will have to don your logical hats as you try to unravel the mysteries of the room by finding clues, solving riddles and completing puzzles that will help you to escape.Escape rooms are usually based around a theme. Here at Roomination, our first room is pirate themed, so you will be solving clues in a room set up as a pirate ship. More themed rooms are planned at Roomination, so sign up and stay in the loop for when new games are ready.

I have 7/8 people in our group. Can we all play together?

As the game starts off quite small, it would be quite difficult to fit 7/8 adults into one game. However if you have children as part of your group, we may be able to accommodate your request. Please get in touch with us if you would like to book a game for 7/8 people. Please bear in mind that the more people playing, the less there will be for everyone to do! So it may be more of a fun experience if you split the games into two.

Roomination is located in Llanfyllin Workhouse, Powys. Click here for directions direct to the venue in Google Maps. Don’t use the postcode in the Satnav! Llanfyllin is on A490 Oswestry to Welshpool road. The Workhouse is the large Victorian building on the right just before you enter town.When you arrive, drive through the main gates into the big carpark and park in an available space. Walk towards the building and then turn left to follow the road beside the building. Follow this road all the way around the side of the building until you reach the entrance, which is up the small set of stairs with the green railing.Please arrive at your booked time slot. If you are running late, please let us know and we will try to fit you in as best as possible but it may be that you won’t be able to complete a full game. Please read our terms page for details regarding our refund policy for cancellations.Please note: the road around the building has potholes and can get a bit muddy if it has been raining, so please bring appropriate footwear. It also gets very dark in the evenings as there is no outdoor lights on at the Workhouse when you arrive.

Our first game “Escape from the Cursed Galleon” is pirate themed, and is aimed at groups of all ages. The room is quite dark and atmospheric but it is suitable for all ages. There are no loud or sudden noises or surprises, and the theme itself is tailored towards families and children. We have had children as young as 6 who have played along and been fine with the experience, and even babies that have slept all the way through!
