Walk through a collection of plants native to Australasia in the Australia & New Zealand Garden. Discover Eucalyptus trees, unusual shrubs and perennials, ans a wide collection of plants from the Southern Hemisphere, all on a slope! Little ones love the array of different textures in this part of the gardens, with so many wild and wonderful plants blossoming against the odds of the UK climate.
Woodland GardenFeel as if you are the main character of a fairytale novel in the beautiful Woodland Garden. Situated on the hilltop, the Woodland Garden is teeming with magic and wildlife. Watch the rhododendrons, Camellias, and West Himalayan birch trees thrive as you stroll through this natural wonderland. If you are looking to continue your fairytale head to other parts of the garden like the Shrub Rose Border and Gold Border, The Island Beds and Lawns,Herbaceous Border or the Rose Garden and Rose Rope Walk.
Bird Watching
Fancy a spot of bird watching? At the Reservoir and Bird Hide kids can discover up to 90 different species of birds! Some of the species being wigeons, mallards, swans, pochard, moorhen, tufted duck, teal, coot, little grebe, snipe, cormorant, heron and greylag goose. The man-made, clay-lined reservoir has become a haven for dragonflies too.

Yes, there is parking.
Hyde Hall is conveniently located just 20 minutes from the centre of Chelmsford and is signed from the A130 (southbound). Sat Nav: CM3 8RA. From the M25, leave the M25 at junction 29 for A127 (signed Southend). From the A127 exit onto the A132 (signed Wickford/South Woodham Ferrers). From the A12, leave at junction 17, then at the roundabout take the second exit for the A130 (signed Southend/Basildon). From the A130, Rettendon Turnpike roundabout follow the tourist attraction flower symbols towards South Woodham Ferrers on the A132. At the Shaw Farm roundabout turn into Willow Grove/Creephedge Lane. Car parking is free.
