Pevensey Castle History

In the 4th century, it stood tall and proud as one of the last strongest Roman 'Saxon Shore' forts. It was built as a defence against Saxon pirates! Did you know two-thirds of the walls still stand to this day? It's also famously known as the landing place of William the Conqueror's army in 1066.
