Manor Farm and Country Park
Southampton, HampshireAbout Manor Farm and Country Park
Visit a historic farm that is rich in history and actually dates back to medieval times! Showcasing a traditional farm life, while also providing an insight into the past.
The History
In the 13th century, a parish church was built here to serve the local community of Botley. And over the next 800 years, the farm evolved, with new buildings popping up and having been restored through the centuries. Now, Manor Farm is a bustling attraction. If you love history, you should head over to the 15th-century farmhouse. Which housed many generations of farm workers and their families. After falling into disrepair, Hampshire County Council bought the farm during the 1970s and with the help of volunteers, fixed it to how it is today.
Things to do
Manor Farm has an abundance of incredible activities and fun things to do! With a wildlife pond, where you can discover lots of creepy crawlies, over 400 species of wetland plants and more! Explore the Maize Maze with the kids, as you navigate your way through, can you find your way out? Do you have kids who love tractors? At the Tractor Barn, they can discover a host of vintage tractors and farm machinery! Then make your way over to Goat Mountain where you can spot 3 breeds of goats, all residing on the mountain. There are also play areas designed for the goats to jump, climb and play on! Watch them, kid, around! No farm is complete without an outdoor area for the little ones to play in! With seesaws, swings, a picnic zone and a three-tractor climbing frame - the outdoor play area is fun for children!
But there is also an indoor play barn, so your happy children can play no matter the weather! There are also accessible play pieces here for all ages to enjoy. From giant fruit and veg toys to slides, rope bridges and more farm-inspired equipment.
