Lincoln Cathedral is one of the most spectacular Gothic cathedrals that held the record for the world's tallest building for over two centuries. Enjoy exploring the magnificent exterior and interiors, colourful stained glass windows and discovering the famous Lincoln Imp.
You may have heard of the Lincoln Cathedral in the influential and iconic battle of Lincoln in 1217 which took place across Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and Steep Hill! This battle was so historically important as invading French forces were pushed back so that King Henry III held on to the throne. Today, all three locations hold a chain of Summer events to mark the battle.
This spectacular medieval cathedral was originally built in the 11th century and holds great cultural significance in England. Not only was it the tallest building in the world between 1311 to 1549 but it was also used as the seat old English parliament in the 14th century too!
Today it is used for religious practices, historical tours and of course it's exciting family events that you may have seen on instagram.Take the little ones to watch the theatre production of Disney's Notre Dame.
