Riverside Park is the local community venue for a wide range of regular family oriented events, from music concerts to food fairs, funfairs to duck races and also contains a number of pieces of public art for the kids to discover as they explore, including a gnomon sundial!
Near to the Riverside Park isLockside Park Sensory Garden which overlooks Newark's picturesque town lock. With a charming range of really tactile and strongly perfumed plants, a fountain and soothing background music, Lockside Sensory Gardens are a perfect place to relax and watch the world go by, especially with children and folks with special needs or sensory impairments of all ages.
Newark Tourist Information Centre, situated at the Gilstrap Centre next to Newark Castle, is also just a short walk over Newark's Trent Bridge and there are plenty more more delights in the local area to discover and enjoy, which the TIC can help point you at once you've looked them up with us!
