About Curious About Hastings

Curious About Hastings gives an fascinating and entertaining glimpse into what makes this historic and charming seaside town what it is.

Resident or just visiting you are guaranteed to spot things you have never noticed before. Enjoy our walks separately, or join them together to form one longer walk, depending upon your available time and energy and how many of our suggested things to do and see on the way distract you!

Walk 1: Old Town Circular

Starting at memorial gardens in Old Town you begin by exploring the heart of this fascinating area of Hastings, with its ‘heady bohemian atmosphere’, roughly corresponding to the extent of the town prior to the 19th century. Pass its many quaint buildings and quirky shops, before descending to the beach area, home to the biggest beach-launched fishing fleet in England, before making your way back to the gardens (1.5 miles / 1.5 hours / Buggy and Wheelchair friendly (with short diversion to avoid steps))
