Performances are held in stunning venues across London and the South East, in your local neighbourhood as well as special events at Buckingham Palace and Royal Albert Hall.

Bach to Baby is for newborns, school kids, mums, dads, grannies and grandads, aunts, uncles, carers of all kinds. Our concerts are perfect for the whole family to enjoy together. Whether you’re a concert newbie or a classical music aficionado, we promise you will feel welcome.

Miaomiao, an award-winning pianist, wanted to perform for her son in a concert setting, but found it unrealistic for many reasons, including the late nights.

"And then I thought, this is silly. Why not play for him and his friends and other babies and toddlers, at a kid-friendly time? The idea grew from there," said Miaomiao, who was also a professor of piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

We bring musicians from the top concert halls to perform in inspiring locations in your neighbourhood. Our artists reflect the multicultural world that we live in today, with diverse heritage including Afro Cuban, Indian, Brazilian, Israeli, Chinese, Korean, Eastern Europeans, Japanese, as well as the British Isles, bringing with them flavours and experiences of their own roots. 🌍

Our concerts include music from Bach to Barber, from Chopin to Shostakovich, and many other styles of music. Studies show the positive effects of live classical music and children are like little sponges at this stage.

While rooted in the core classical repertoire, Bach to Baby has always been passionate about celebrating different music traditions, including foot-stomping Klezmer, manouche jazz, Afro-Latin rhythms, Hungarian Magyar, and British and Caribbean sea shanties. Not to mention operatic arias, hits from the musicals, including Disney favourites, and a healthy dose of Beatlemania!

Instead of playing at modest community halls, venues with a specific sense of atmosphere were chosen.

"I want babies to enjoy sophisticated music and that’s aided by fantastic atmosphere and acoustics, as well as fabulous guest artists," said Miaomiao, adding that exhausted parents deserve an inspiring setting as much as anyone. 🥰
