Feels like flying! 5 out of 5 stars
Home to the world's fastest zip wire, this is a must-visit day out for any thrill-seeking families! After stepping in to your fetching red all-in-one suits, it's on to the practice wire, or Little Zipper. Don't be fooled by the name, this 'little' zip is still pretty terrifying, with stunning views over the quarry from the platform. With a thorough safety briefing, you're strapped in lying completely horizontally - I wasn't blown away by the small one, but it certainly helps you to prepare and get the most out of the main zipwire! A 12 minute truck ride later and you're standing at the top of the quarry with incredible Welsh views and the bright blue lake (even on a pretty wet and grey day!). Once again lying flat, you're sent down the Velocity zipwire, reaching up to 60mph in just 4 seconds. Over the lake you'll feel like you're flying (I felt like I'd stopped!) before coming in to land around 60 seconds later. Taking around 1hr30 from start to finish it can be a long way to travel if you're not local, but trust me, it's worth every minute! Plus, you get a FREE video of your ride included in your ticket thanks to cameras along the line. They even recommend keeping your phone with youm, as this can be safely stored in a pouch on the front of your harness - great for photos!
