Attraction Information
Conwy Valley Railway Museum is full of vintage railway information and artefacts but with children in tow it won't be the main act! However kids will enjoy pushing the buttons to make the 5 model railways within the museum run around the track.
A real ride on (rather than model) miniature railway takes you on a 10 minute trip around the beautifully landscaped grounds. If you are lucky you may see wild rabbits grazing, they're usually spotted near the pond. There is even a dark little tunnel for the train to go through which will thrill the smalls! Trains run every day from 10:30 to 16:30.
For the children there are dodgem cars and rides that they can access for just 50p each so encourage them to bring their pocket money along! They can drive the Tomy tram along its own track, too!
There is also a 66' long scenic model railway in one of the old standard gauge rolling stock vans which is usually a favourite of the kids', so it's far from a serious chuffhead ranch, there's plenty of welcoming and entertaining elements designed just for the little people too. Yay!
There's also a cafe for refreshments and a gift shop to saunter about so all in all it's a pleasingly well facilitated day out that's ideal for small kids and grandparents!
