Attraction Information

Generations of families have had their lives defined by the mining industry. At Llechwedd Deep Mine, you have a chance to interact with their stories and to hear how every expedition was a gamble, as well as an adventure!

Travel 500ft underground via cable railway into a stunningly recreated environment, with cutting edge enhanced technology. This means light projections, special effects and spectacle with projections over an underground lake! The journey takes around one and a half hours and you’ll learn loads about how this landscape was formed.

The highlight of the day has to be the brand new Quarry Explorer off road truck tour! Hop aboard a converted military 4x4 truck and explore the blasted landscape of craters and caverns. Hold onto your hats as you climb colossal peaks and descend into the troughs of man-made mountains. Plus enjoy fabulous views of the Welsh countryside.

For an unexpected treat, pick up some delicious slate-cavern-aged cheddar at the gift shop. This is an award-winning adventure for all to enjoy!
