Tamar Lakes are conveniently located just inland from the coastal resort of Bude. Surrounded by the countryside, Tamar Lakes are popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, families, sailors, bird watchers and anglers, all searching for their own piece of tranquillity. There is plenty to do at this scenic lake including a round lake walk and cycle trail suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, a children's play area and a cafe that is popular with walkers, families and those just enjoying the view! The Activity Centre offers a variety of watersports including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing. You can hire a craft or launch your own and experience a completely different view of Tamar Lakes. Those wanting to extend their stay can make full use of the campsite with panoramic views over the 81-acre lake. Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or an action-packed break, Tamar has something for all to enjoy.

This idyllic location on the Devon and Cornwall border is perfect for exploring on bike or foot. The 5km lakeside path is maintained and accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs - it's also an ideal route for a run! The purpose-built path is also suitable for bicycles and passes through countryside and woodland.

Hire our watersports equipment or launch your own when the Activity Centre is open. Choose between kayaking, paddleboarding, canoing, rowing, sailing or our swan pedalo!
Fun on dry land
Upper Tamar Lake is also a renowned coarse fishery.
