Attraction Information
With its pretty spectacular location on Cornwall's dramatic and windswept Atlantic coastline, Tintagel is a beautiful place full of magic and myth where the legend of King Arthur was born!
This historic spot is also rich in flora and fauna and provides a regular breeding ground for sea birds, lizards and butterflies. Tintagel Castle is unarguably one of Cornwall's most iconic sites. A fierce strong hold of the Earls of Cornwall, the castle was built in the 13th century. Now in ruins, it maintains the power to inspire young and old alike. A great place for the kids to practice with their camera or their sketch pad.
It's also right besides TIntagel Beach which is tidal, meaning that twice a day, the sea reveals an intriguing world of rockpools for you and the kids to explore! There are also proper caves for braver explorers including Merlin's Cave which stretches right back into the cliff when the tide is out! Echo-cho-cho-cho….
The 'Beach Cafe' serves a delicious selection of hot and cold snacks and light meals ideal for replacing a picnic if you can't be bothered, all sourced from fine local Cornish produce. Hooray!
