Stagecoach offers frequent routes into St Andrews, including services 99, X59, and 96. Once you arrive at St Andrews Bus Station, it’s just a short 10-minute walk to the aquarium. Simply head towards the coast, and you’ll find the aquarium situated along the scenic Bruce Embankment.
By Train:
Although St Andrews itself doesn’t have a train station, you can still travel by train to nearby Leuchars Station. Trains from Edinburgh, Dundee, and other major Scottish cities stop at Leuchars. From there, you can hop on a bus or take a taxi for a quick 10-minute ride into St Andrews. Once in town, follow the directions from the bus station, and you’ll find St Andrews Aquarium just a short stroll from the town centre.
By Car:
Driving to St Andrews Aquarium is a breeze, and it offers the flexibility to explore the beautiful surrounding area as well. From Edinburgh, the drive takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes via the M90 and A91. If you’re coming from Dundee, it’s an easy 30-minute drive along the A92 and A91. The aquarium is located on Bruce Embankment, and there are several nearby car parks, including the Bruce Embankment Car Park and The Scores Car Park, both just a few minutes’ walk from the aquarium entrance. Remember to bring change for parking meters or use a parking app.
