BHS approved Scholland Equestrian at Kilconquhar is a main centre for the Riding for the Disabled Association and offers trekking, woodland hacks and trail rides for all competent levels. You can even get a little starstruck if you like as one of their tremendous Fell Ponies was part of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh's driving team! Plus the couple who run the place have a huge amount of experience in every area of equestrianism including being international competition riders!
Friendly and professional lessons delivered by experienced leaders are available for all ages over around 5 years; Private Lessons last around 45 minutes and will include experience in tacking up. Beach rides last at least 2 hours so you really get to know your mount and both acclimatise to and master the terrain before your session is done.
The Kilconquhar Castle Estate itself has a rich history and gorgeous architecture, so is well worth an explore after your lesson or ride.
Opening Times
Booking required. The centre is open 7 days a week from 8 am through to early evening dependant on booked rides.
