Attraction Information
Visit South Wales Miners Museum and find yourself being taken on an historical journey back in time. The museum offers insight into the working life of a miner and features a replica miners' tunnel and an extensive collection of photographs and various mining artifacts that bring the experience to life.
Be warned though, while it's very family friendly there are fairly harrowing stories of the conditions child miners worked in, so consider your own child's suitability to hear those stories!
Outdoor exhibits include an authentic Blacksmith Shop, Lamp Room and an antique Engine House, so plenty of things to explore.
Brave and adventurous types can also experience the dark room where there is no natural light, emulating the true conditions underground! Plus cap lamps and helmets can be tried on for a bit of underground role play!
Bear in mind when you're trying to find it that it's in Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre!
