History of South Wales Coal mining
Learning about the history of mining with interactive and life like displays.
Visit South Wales Miners Museum and find yourself being taken on an historical journey back in time. The museum offers insight into the working life of a miner and features a replica miners' tunnel and an extensive collection of photographs and various mining artifacts that bring the experience to life.
Outdoor exhibits include an authentic Blacksmith Shop, Lamp Room and an antique Engine House, so plenty of things to explore.

Our Guides are ex working miners with a wealth of knowledge on how coal mines operated and the hard conditions miners experienced in a dangerous working enviroment
Many of our displays allow kids to interact. There is a simulated underground expeirience in the main building where kids can dress up as a miner and experience what working life was like in a coal mine.
The outdoor exhibits include a working Blacksmiths Forge, Lamp Room and Haulage Engine. We also have a working model steam engine called "Glyndwr"
