About Secret of the Thames

Ever wondered what's lurking on the bottom of the River Thames? What's stayed hidden for years...centuries even? Well, wonder no more! With the Secret of the Thames exhibition at the London Museum Docklands, you can uncover all of the lost treasures that lay on the bottom of the river bed.

Curious? We're here to tell you all about it!

What is the Secret of the Thames?

The Secret of the Thames is the UK's FIRST ever major exhibit that's dedicated to mudlarking - an activity that involves scavenging through banks and shorelines of rivers for valuable items.

Did you know that twice a day, the River Thames falls back quite a lot - exposing a muddy landscape that can be filled with fascinating objects and even historical treasures? Alongside the mud and the stones, you'll be able to discover a time long forgotten throughout human history and deep dive into interesting stories of generations gone by.

Unearth Real Mudlark Treasures

Get up close to fascinating objects found along the Thames – from Roman coins to medieval shoes, each with a hidden story to tell!

Interactive River Explorer Zones

Kids can dive into hands-on exhibits, puzzles, and digital maps that bring the River Thames and its secrets to life.
