Top things to do when visiting Cutty Sark
Explore the Ship
Venture aboard and beneath one of the world's most famous ships on the banks of the River Thames. Walk along the decks in the footsteps of the merchant seamen who sailed her over a century ago. You can take an audio tour of this state-of-the-art vessel and explore its various decks, cabins, and holds. Learn about the ship's history, crew, and life during its sailing days.
Now it's time for a bit of history! Did you know that this British clipper ship continued as a cargo ship until 1922 before being purchased by Wilfred Dowman and becoming an Auxiliary vessel? And, in December 1883, the ship departed Newcastle, New South Wales, with 4289 bales of Wool and 12 casks of tallow and arrived in London just 83 days later! This was 25 days faster than the nearest rival (and record time!) - ensuring Australian Wool would make it to Britain in time for the January wool sales.
Interactive activities, displays and exhibits
Cutty Sark Greenwich showcases artefacts, exhibits, and interactive displays related to the ship's history and significance. Take some time to learn more about the voyages, cargo, and challenges sailors face during the age of sail. Don't miss seeing the world's largest collection of merchant figureheads. The figurehead collection is an interesting, colourful mix of designs with figurehead versions of famous people like Florence Nightingale and Sir Lancelot.

The ship's skilled crew of chefs has created a menu of traditional dishes with a modern twist. From hearty pub classics to seafood dishes, there's something for everyone to enjoy. They also have a range of drinks, including 40 different single malts.
