The Museum of Eton Life is 1 of 2 museums within Eton College. The Museum of Eton Life tells the story of the foundation of Eton College in 1440 and provides a glimpse into the world of the Eton schoolboy past and present. Find out about work, games (including the famous Eton Wall Game), punishment, and some of the colourful customs of the past. Also discover well known old Etonians (including 18 prime ministers!) and see the buildings in a different light. Learn about the harsh conditions in the early days when the children had to wash outside using cold water and rats ran free! The guided tours provide loads of fascinating facts about Eton College, and a chance to explore the Chapel, the Cloisters, and the oldest classroom in the College! You might also like to tie your visit in with a visit to the child-friendly Eton Natural History Museum housing over 15,000 specimens with 77 public displays, on two floors!
