A family annual pass is £48 (two named adults and upto three named children).
Home to the Derwent Valley Light Railway
A must-ride attraction, the Derwent Valley Light Railway (DVLR) spans half a mile within our grounds here at Murton Park.
Run (or should we say fuelled?) by passionate volunteers, this visitor attraction is open every weekend from February half term until our Christmas Event. With passenger trains running on most Sundays during this period as well as every day during Bank Holiday weekends (passenger train schedules are subject to safety regulations and weather conditions).
Ticket prices to ride on the train with park admission are:
£1 per person, per ride OR
£5 per group (up to five people) for unlimited rides throughout the day
Under 1s are free.
Living history sites to explore
Ever wondered what it was like to live in a Viking village or Roman fort? Visit us and you’ll find out! We have a recreated Roman fort, Viking village, prehistoric village, and WW2 evacuee area.

Murton Park and the DVLR are located near the village of Murton, just off the A166. Follow the signs from the A4 York by-pass. You can also follow the brown signs to ‘The Yorkshire Museum of Farming’.

The 747 (Pocklington) East Yorkshire bus service runs from York railway station to Murton village. Leave the village via Murton Lane and the museum is a couple of minutes walk on your right. Please note this includes walking on a road with no pavement.
The No. 10 First York bus service runs from York railway station to Grimston Court. The museum is a 5/10 minute walk away. From the bus, follow Bore Tree Baulk. At the end cross the A166 and turn right, Murton Lane is on the left. The museum is at the far end of the lane on the left. Please note this also includes walking on roads with no pavement.
