About York Minster
York Minster is a world-famous artistic and architectural masterpiece built between the 1220s and the 1470s. It offers people of all ages a wealth of things to see and memories to treasure. The Minster stands on a site where history has been made over the centuries. When you have entered the Minster you may be able to join a free guided tour with one of their volunteer Guides. Experience the beauty of the Quire and the Chapter House. Discover the Minster's fascinating history in the Undercroft, Treasury and Crypt. Gaze from the top of the Central Tower, across the pinnacles and gargoyles of the Minster, looking out onto the medieval streets of historic York and to the countryside beyond. Take a tour of the new Glass Conservation Studio at Bedern Chapel.
