Attraction Information
Ilfracombe Aquarium is a brilliant all weather, educational, family attraction that can be found in the Old Lifeboat House on Ilfracombe's picturesque harbour. It offers a fantastic insight into the wonders of the aquatic world that can be found locally around North Devon, and is home to over 75 species of fish!
Kids are very welcome, and have been well-catered for to ensure that they get the most out of their visit, with free quizzes offered on entry to provide a fun (and educational) challenge as they explore the different exhibits. Viewing stools are also available for toddlers and young children. The friendly and knowledgeable fish keeper guides will offer interactive experiences, feeding demonstrations and more to engage the kids. If they are lucky, they may also meet Sally the Starfish!
The aquarium will lead you on a journey through different zones that show a variety of aquatic habitats, and the wildlife that lives there. From an Exmoor stream, down a River, to an Estuary, a local rock pool, a harbour, coast, and even out to Lundy, you will see amazing creatures and learn all about them as you explore each area. There are so many different creatures to see, from anemones to crabs, starfish to sharks! The whole family is sure to have a whale of a time!
