Houghton Boats
Huntingdon, CambridgeshireAbout Houghton Boats
Our family run business has been hiring boats on what we think is one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Ouse for over 70 years. We know you will enjoy the peace and tranquility of our backwaters spotting wildlife while watching out for pirates as countless others have. An absolutely ideal activity for all ages from 3 to 93 that won't break the bank.
With a wide range of self propelled boats, catering for all levels of ability, we are happy to offer advice and tuition to ensure that you find the boat that suits you and your family best. We provide all the equipment that you need from buoyancy aids and paddles (of all sizes) to maps and wildlife spotting sheets, to equip you for adventures from an hour to a day to create memories that will last.
Fun for all ages and all abilities and dog friendly
Get into the fresh air, beautiful scenery - everyone can enjoy the river.
We rent a range of non motorised small boats suitable for exploring, picnicing, paddling and even visiting pubs and coffee shops. The river is calm and slow moving. Plenty of places to pull in for a picnic or a paddle.
Our small boats are suitable for all ages: wide stable rowing boats, punts which can be punted or paddled, canoes and rafted canoes - great for a crowd particularly with children as they take out the wobble but leave the fun in.
Look out for ducks, swans, geese and water lilies. Try and catch little fish but easier to bring a picnic!
We can store bikes and buggies, there is parking at the National Trust Houghton Mill and even a good tea shop. What more could you want?
