Attraction Information
The Lodge nature reserve's woodland, heath and acid grassland here cover 180 hectares, and are being restored to form the largest stretch of heathland in Bedfordshire.
Explore this attractive nature reserve along 8 km of trails, discover the Iron Age banks and ditches on Galley Hill, visit the beautifully managed gardens, or watch woodland birds from the hide. You can see a wide range of woodland species throughout the year, including spotted flycatchers and hobbies during the summer!
There are a number of events in the events programme that are designed just for families, such as mini-beast safaris, plus RSPB Explorer Backpacks are available for children to use on the reserve. These contain binoculars, activity booklets, bug viewers, and wildlife guides, and are designed to help kids learn, while having loads of fun!
Dog owners please be aware that due to the sensitive nature of wildlife, dogs are only allowed on the bridleway, not the other paths.
