Ham House and Garden

The National Trust's Ham House and Garden is packed with fascinating history to explore in the 17th century Stuart mansion on the banks of the River Thames. As well as learning about the life of Elizabeth Murray, the Duchess of Lauderdale, and her connections to both the Royal family and Oliver Cromwell, families can explore a collection of fascinating treasures from around the world. The extensive garden is perfect for families, packed with colourful flowers during the spring and summer, and full of nooks and crannies to discover in the Wilderness area, the Cherry Garden and in the courtyards. There's also a Kitchen Garden filled with homegrown produce, that is used in the cafe. Resident feline, Lord Roscoe, is often to be found basking in the sun outside the house, which is accessible by public transport. Don't miss regular half-term activities, the Easter trail and Christmas events.
