Attraction Information
Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway is run by friendly volunteer enthusiasts who love sharing their knowledge of the railway and the trains that run on it.
There is a ground railway and an elevated railway with two differing types of locomotive running. There are quite a number of different engines for the kids to see, all made to scale, mostly at home, by members of the Society of Model Engineers who run this railway. Most models take several years to make and this shows in the quality of the model engines.
The railway is open for train rides from Easter on the first Sunday of every month. Please be aware that some open days get really busy and you will have to queue, but you can watch the trains running while you wait: consolation and a half!
Wheelchair users can also ride on the Comet, which has been especially designed to carry a wheel chair up to 65cm (25.5 inches) wide, it's one of the only ones in the country at this gauge!
There is a picnic area in the middle of the tracks so you can even watch the trains while you eat. So for chuff heads of all sizes and ages this is a delight you can extend in all directions.
