From activities for kids to salmon fishing, you will find a raft of activity awaiting you. The Castle has 120 rooms, 17 turrets and four towers and from your very first glance you will know you are entering a world of grandeur and grace. You'll discover art by Rembrandt and Gainsborough amid the finest furnishing and antiques.
The Estate has miles of beautiful walks and acres of elegant gardens. Launch yourself down one of the championship mountain biking trails, or hook yourself a salmon, fishing on the river. Activities for kids include everything from an adventure playground to wildlife walks and a whole host of seasonal events.
The Castle is the stunning Dumfrieshire seat of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry and they hope you find it as inspiring as they do.

Walks and trails are open all year round.
The Gardens and Playground are open 1 March to 31 October Daily, 9.30am-4.30pm
The Castle is open for tours Easter weekend, May bank Holiday weekends, Friday to Monday in July and August - however please check before travelling and book in advance as tours sell out fast. Private tours are available all year round by appointment.
