Attraction Information

Looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for a day? Get the kids out for a wonderful nature experience at WWT Caerlaverock Wetland Centre. Wander along spectacular walks in the wetlands and do some wildlife watching. Spot butterflies, dragonflies, plus lots and lots of birds!

Amateur bird watchers off all ages will have a blast at the park. Armed with binoculars in hand, little explorers can spot swans, geese, owls and many other wild feathery friends. With fantastic viewing platforms and secret hideouts scattered all around the park, you’ll get the chance to get as close to the birds as possible. Take the Peter Scott centenary walk and you’ll eventually stumble across a wild birds feeding area too.

No matter what season you pick for your visit, you’ll have lots of fun things to do - from pond dipping in the summer, to feeding the swans in winter. Caerlaverock Wetland Centre offers some indoor animal fun too. Watch the osprey and barn owl nests on a live CCTV feed at the cafe and see the extra rare 220-million-year-old triops at the Caerlaverock aquarium - you can’t do that anywhere else in the UK!
