Danum Gallery, Library and Museum
About Danum Gallery, Library and Museum
Danum Gallery, Library and Museum is a family-friendly museum with games, colouring sheets, and trails that tells the story of the Doncaster area from the end of the last Ice Age to the present day. It is open all year, and free to visit, with a large and varied temporary exhibition programme, plus special activities and events suitable for all ages and abilities.
Discover all about the area through exhibitions covering archaeology, natural history, local history, and fine and decorative art. Visit the River and Road gallery, which has many items to touch and listen to, such as the wattle and daub of an Iron Age hut, and the sound of their resident growling bears! If you fancy some art, visit the Stepping Out gallery, which is designed especially for families and schools, with a comfortable reading and art area, a dressing up area, and a games area complete with giant chess! All the paintings are hung low too, meaning that even the smallest visitors can get a good view.
