About Thrybergh Country Park Rotherham

In the heart of South Yorkshire, Thrybergh Country Park is a reservoir and nature reserve. With its picturesque lake, mix of meadows, lush greenery, and abundant wildlife, this is a lovely country park for families to enjoy a day out.

Things to do

As you stroll through the park entrance, you'll be greeted by a wonderful green space perfect for outdoor family fun and nature activities.

Lake

One of the park's main attractions is the Thrybergh Park Reservoir/ Lake, which is perfect for fly fishing, birdwatching, or simply enjoying a peaceful stroll by the water. The actual distance around the lake is around 2 miles, so it is ideal for a family walk as it should only take around 45 minutes. The area around the water is also home to various wildlife, including different species of mammals and birds. We think a fun game to play with kids is to see how many creatures they can spot.

Countryside and Reservoir Walking Trails

If you love walking, you’ll appreciate the well-marked trails that wind around the reservoir and through the park. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll, a brisk jog, or even a bike ride.

Fishing

Enjoy fishing in a beautiful area at Thrybergh Country Park. A permit must be purchased but you can expect well stocked water full of trout. Perfect for beginners or those more experienced at fishing.
