Grimm & Co
Rotherham, South YorkshireAbout Grimm & Co
If you have a taste for the magical world, then Grimm & Co is the place for you!
Wander in to our Emporium of Stories, where you will find book nooks, stories and magic around every corner. We have a fantastical apothecary, selling potions, spells & magical essentials - from Secret Spell Books to Giant Belly Button Cleaners. These are products for magical beings, although humans are also welcome. Just watch out for side-effects such as hairy eyeballs, squeaky bottom-burps or selective deafness.
Grimm & Co offer a Fairytale Mail Service, where you can write a letter to your favourite fairytale character and receive a handwritten reply from them within 7-10 days!
We have a Library of Forgotten Books - explore, read and take home books from the library to keep forever, free of charge!
Step a little further, and you will find yourself in the Feastery Cafe, full of delicious meals, snacks and treats, with an imaginative, story theme. Enjoy the creative activities in the cafe and pick up a board game to enjoy at your table.
All the proceeds from the shop and cafe support the charity, which is the real magic of Grimm & Co!

We are a children's literacy charity where stories and imagination take priority!
Grimm & Co provide free creative writing activities to children and young people, raising confidence, self-belief and self-esteem through stories, imagination and play. As well as the free workshop programmes, after-school clubs and holiday activities to book on to, there are activities in the shop and cafe to engage and entertain. Why not write a letter to a magical being, design a secret, forgotten floor, or tell stories while enjoying a cuppa.
Beautiful books and gifts with quirky side-effects for human customers.
The Apothecary to the Magical is full of delights such as a Pinch of Happiness, Glow of Gratitude and Extract of Genius. These are aimed at magical beings, who need to get their potions from somewhere! Human customers are welcome too, but are warned by the friendly shop-elves to beware of the side-effects, such as sweaty teeth, unwarranted sarcasm and a craving for over-boiled cabbage.
You can pick up a broomstick or a Giant Belly-Button cleaner, alongside more 'mortal' products such as tinned candles from the 'Grimm and Tonic' range.
There is also a range of beautiful, diverse, carefully curated books that will appeal to all ages, and there are often author events and the possibility of a signed book or two!
Homemade cakes and treats, with delicious meals and coffees.
The delicious menu items all have magical translations, offering a chuckle as you place your order. Why not try some Minotaur hoof mud, but be warned, this may cause spontaneous mooing (usually mid-sentence). Coffee is supplied by local B-Corp, Darkwoods and comes highly recommended!
Cakes and meals are made in-house by talented staff, and always served with a smile!
