Attraction Information
Cheslyn House and Gardens is a beautiful place to relax and perhaps have a picnic. Kids will love running on the grass, looking at fish, newts, frogs (and sometimes frogspawn), in the pond. There is also an aviary with quail, budgies, assorted finches and other small birds that are looked after by the gardener and Park Rangers.
The open area to the front is a bit more formal than the semi natural woodland area, but it is more accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The woodland also has plenty of flowers and is a great place to find bluebells and snowdrops during the spring.
A good variety of plants, shrubs and trees can be seen, plus animals such as squirrels, badgers, foxes and sometimes a Muntjac deer. Most of the plants are labelled too, so you can find out the names of any that you or the kids really like and maybe plant one at home.
Dogs are welcome to visit with you but must be kept on the lead and clear up any dog mess.
