About Aldenham Country Park
When it comes to family-friendly days out, few places can match the charm and variety of Aldenham Country Park. In the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, Aldenham Country Park offers an ideal setting for a memorable day with your loved ones.
Things To Do
Aldenham Country Park boasts numerous walking trails that cater to all fitness levels. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, the park's nature trails offer stunning views and a chance to immerse yourself in nature. The Lakeside Walk is particularly popular, providing a scenic route around the tranquil Aldenham Reservoir. Don't forget to bring your binoculars – the park is a haven for birdwatchers and fellow nature lovers!
Boating on the Lake
Looking to explore the park in a unique way? Board a boat for a relaxing experience, families can rent a rowboat or paddleboat and enjoy a peaceful trip on Aldenham Reservoir. This water-based activity is perfect for those who love being on the water and offers a different perspective of the park's natural beauty! I am running a few minutes late; my previous meeting is running over.
100 Aker Wood
One of the park's star attractions is the enchanting 100 Aker Wood, inspired by the beloved stories of Winnie the Pooh. You kids can explore the magical world of Pooh and his friends, plus explore the themed play areas! You can also discover all the beloved characters' houses, like Eeyore's House, Piglet's House and even Pooh Bear's. You can also play the iconic game of Poohsticks on Poohsticks Bridge! The imaginative setting allows kids to explore their favourite stories and create their adventures.
Farm Experience
A trip to Aldenham Country Park wouldn't be complete without visiting the farm. The kids' farm is home to a variety of animals, including goats, pigs, chickens, and rabbits, as well as Shetland ponies, alpacas, and guinea pigs. The kids can get up close and personal with these friendly creatures, learn about them hands-on, and even pet the smallest critters. There's even a fun-tastic farm trail, tractor rides, and a chance to meet Winne the Pooh!
Adventure Playground
Did you know Aldenham Country's Playground is a purpose-built place, especially for kids and young people with special needs?
This multi-sensory play facility is in the heart of Aldenham Country Park. It features indoor facilities as well as sensory play, adventure, country playgrounds, and changing rooms. There are separate sensory rooms, which offer both relaxing and stimulating environments. Light tunnels, sound, and projection equipment are all operated from within the room, and beanbag chairs are provided for comfort.
The kids can zoom down the zip wire, build sandcastles in the sand pit, and splash in the water area! There are also monkey nets to clamber over, a climbing pole, and pony rides!
Indoor Play & Crafts
Arts and crafts sessions are run in the main hall, where there are plenty of toys to play with and indoor soft play. The space is also used for workshops and free play, and it has a chill-out space for those who want to relax. The changing room is fitted with two hoists, one in the ceiling and one mobile, and is a fully equipped disabled facility.
Parents can be assured that their child is fully taken care of in this interactive, supportive and stimulating environment.

"Beautiful outdoors. I’ve been going there with my kids since they were very small and the 100 acre woods is amazing. Made lots of memories with my kids. The cafe has delicious teas and coffee as well as pastries if you want lunch in the park. The farm is very clean and the animals are always ready for a handful of feed. I love spring there the most and I can take my dog on very long walks too." - Daniela
