Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido

Ashby Leisure Centre & Lido is home to the only outdoor lido in Leicestershire - and it's been a local favourite since 1929. The heated 30m x 10m pool is open throughout the summer for public swimming, lane swimming, and raft and float sessions, making it a brilliant destination for families on a sunny day.

What makes it extra special for younger visitors is the Ashby-by-the-Sea beach area - a sandy play zone complete with climbing equipment and sand toys right beside the pool. There's also a catering hub on site for refreshments, so you can make a full day of it. The lido can also be hired for private parties and events during the summer season - perfect for a birthday celebration with a difference.

Whether you're introducing a baby to water for the first time or helping older children build confidence, Ashby Leisure Centre has a pool session to suit. Two indoor pools run year-round alongside the seasonal outdoor lido, hosting everything from casual family swims and lane sessions to award-winning swimming lessons accredited by Swim England.

Lessons are available for all ages from just four months old, with qualified swim teachers running structured programmes for babies, toddlers, children, and adults alike.

Ashby Leisure Centre is a full family activity centre, open year-round whatever the weather. Beyond the pools, there's a four-court sports hall with badminton, table tennis, and football; squash courts; a state-of-the-art gym; group fitness classes including Les Mills; two fully floodlit 3G Astroturf football pitches; and a skate park for older kids.

Teenagers are well catered for too - supervised gym sessions are available for 11-15 year olds at dedicated time slots, giving them a safe and structured way to get active. With free onsite parking and a café and bar on site, it's easy to make a full day of it for the whole family.
