Attraction Information
WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre offers families an exciting range of close wildlife encounters. From hand feeding birds and handling amphibians, to exploring on the canoe safari or on foot there are many ways to experience wildlife all year round.
WWT Slimbridge has exotic birds from around the world including the UK's largest flock of flamingos. Watch them from our special sunken observatory on their nesting island as they rear chicks in the spring and summer months.
A daily programme of events including otter talks, amphibian handling sessions and swan feeds add excitement to your family's day. There are also lots of paths and trails to explore and discover.
If the kids are feeling active head to Welly Boot Land to splash in the stream, change the water flow or play in the fountain. There is also a play tower at River Life with a wobbly bridge and slide.
Free, extra activities are on offer during school holidays such as an Easter trail, Downy duckling days in May and pond dipping in the summer holidays. WWT Slimbridge has a large free car park. There are two cafes in the visitor centre and kiosks in the grounds at the play areas.
