Tudor World
Stratford upon Avon, WarwickshireAbout Tudor World
Tudor World is a small independent museum in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, set inside a historic Tudor property and packed with interactive ways to explore sixteenth-century life.
Rather than rows of artefacts behind glass, this experience is all about stepping into recreated scenes, hearing the stories behind Tudor England and getting closer to the sights, sounds and strange details of everyday life. You can sit at an Elizabethan table, discover the darker side of the period and explore the building with costumed guides who help bring the setting to life.
It is a particularly good fit for families with children who enjoy roleplay, storytelling and hands-on history. The museum covers everything from Tudor homes and Shakespearean Stratford to plague, superstition and the messier side of the era, so it feels more vivid than a traditional museum visit.
Parents should know that some parts may be unsettling for very young or sensitive children, especially the plague content and realistic figures. For many families, that added realism is part of what makes the visit memorable, but it is worth knowing before you go.
Step Inside Tudor Life!
Explore recreated Tudor rooms, meet costumed guides and get hands-on with history in a way that actually brings it to life for kids. No dusty displays here!
Small Museum, Massive Character
Tucked inside a gorgeous historic building in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, Tudor World packs in more atmosphere per square foot than you'd ever expect. There's always something brilliant to spot!
Perfect for Curious Older Kids
If your family loves immersive, story-led history, this one's for you! Just a heads-up that some plague scenes and realistic figures can feel a little intense for very young or sensitive children.
