Attraction Information
Tudor World award winning museum is situated right in the heart of the historic town of Stratford upon Avon within a Grade 2* listed historic building. From Tudor pubs, to plague and poo, you can also experience how life was for the masses in the sixteenth century.
Tudor World is an unusual small independent museum set within a Tudor property in Stratford upon Avon. The only museum in the country devoted to the Tudors, it does not have artefacts or period furniture but instead recreates different areas of Tudor life, interweaved with stories of the building's rich history (on a site that dates back to the birth of the Town in the late 12th century) and the history of Stratford itself.
The building itself is very historic and accessed via the only remaining cobbled street in Stratford. Children will enjoy the atmosphere and recreations of the period, as well at the free quiz and sweetie prize! Family shows are included during peak times, and a walk with William Shakespeare takes place every Saturday at 2pm.
Step into Shakespeare's England and experience the good, bad and ugly of Tudor life. Take your place at an Elizabethan dining table, rest in a 4 poster bed and sit on the throne! A family friendly museum with Shakespeare tours; ghost tours and school visits there is something for everyone! Children find the proximity of the recreations and the ability to walk into exhibits highly stimulating. However, some sensitive children may find the subject of the plague uncomfortable and the realistic figures throughout the museum.
