The Oval Bandstand and Lawns

We also host professional touring theatre, live performance, wrestling events, festivals and special one-off experiences, all set against a stunning coastal backdrop.

Unlike many venues, we balance affordability with atmosphere. Expect deckchairs, sunsets, licensed bars, food traders and a relaxed seaside setting. Whether it’s a nostalgic film night, an outdoor theatre production or a vibrant ticketed festival, every event feels special — but remains accessible.

This is big entertainment in a community setting.

Our events bring together local artists, food traders, musicians and community organisations to create vibrant, welcoming experiences for all ages.

Families love the relaxed open space, free live music and inclusive atmosphere. Adults enjoy ticketed music events, theatre performances and cultural festivals that reflect Margate’s creative energy.

Every event supports our not-for-profit mission — reinvesting in the venue and wider community.

Nestled in the heart of this iconic coastal location, our bandstand comes alive with the sound of live music. As the sun sets over the sea, you can bask in the melodies of talented musicians from various genres. From soulful jazz to toe-tapping pop, our Sunday lineup offers something for everyone.

Pack a picnic, bring your friends and family, and relax on the lush lawns. As the music fills the air, you can enjoy the community atmosphere, with people of all ages coming together to celebrate the weekend in style. It's a wonderful way to savor the charm of Cliftonville, soak up the stunning coastal views, and create lasting memories with your loved ones.

Whether you're a music enthusiast or simply seeking a delightful Sunday outing, our Summer Sunday Live Music at The Oval Bandstand and Lawns promises an enchanting experience you won't want to miss.
