The Chester Beatty Library
About The Chester Beatty Library
The Chester Beatty Library can be found in the grounds of Dublin Castle, which has a great complex of buildings to explore, most of it for free as well, so this is a great location for a low priced family day out with imaginative munchkins!
The library is also an art museum, and has an amazing collection of items from across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Highlights of the collection include European renaissance and medieval manuscripts, Egyptian papyrus texts, the Bible, and beautiful illuminated copies of the Qur'an. Other interesting items include Persian and Turkish miniatures, striking Buddhist paintings and Chinese Dragon robes!
