About Newby Hall Adventure Garden
Newby's exciting Adventure Garden for Children has been thoughtfully and safely designed for children of all ages, from the paddling pool, sandpit and swings for toddlers through to climbing frames and bridges, an aerial slide and pedalo boats for the older children. And of course, Newby's famous Miniature Railway is for children and adults alike, of all ages!
Tarantella interactive water play area also provides hours of fun. Six jets of water spring out from the ground, forming arcs of different height and length, making a spidery pattern in three dimensions.
There are 25 acres of award-winning gardens to explore.
Yoredale River Cruises provides a relaxing 25-minute trip down the river Ure.
Newby Hall is now the permanent home to one of the finest collections of dollshouses and miniatures in the world, thanks to the generosity of collectors Caroline Hamilton and Jane Fiddick.
Gyles Brandreth’s Teddy Bear Collection. The Bears, lovingly collected over the years by Gyles and his wife Michele, are now on permanent display. This ever-evolving exhibit features new famous bears alongside bears in various guises and scenes.

Newby’s award winning gardens, mostly created in the early 1920s, have evolved over the years making a major contribution to 20th century gardening.
Miniature Railway
The Newby Hall Miniature Railway which runs along the River Ure, is a delightful ride with fantastic views of the gardens. Our trains run every day we are open – and always on time!
