About New Ark Adventure Playground
New Ark Adventure Playground can be found at New Ark Play, an independent charity encouraging children to take part in adventurous outdoor play!
Their facilities include an eco-garden, a city farm and traditional adventure playground.
Many of the structures in the traditional adventure playground were handmade on site, using discarded industrial parts and traditional building materials, made safe for adventurous handling! A great way for kids to explore as they play, supervised by professional play workers who also love to play!
The Eco centre is a great place for kids to get back to nature and learn to appreciate the scents, colours and smells of plants. The area contains both natural and purpose-built play structures, suitable for younger kids. Plus there is a sensory garden, a woodland area, and a small orchard to enjoy.
The City Farm provides a great opportunity for children (and the rest of the family!) to get to know farm animals, birds, and small pets. Families are encouraged to volunteer for feeding and caring duties. A trained worker will help you care for the creatures so don't worry, you've got expert supervision! The kids can also name and sponsor an animal at birth, take home eggs from farm birds and learn how to care for small animals, so it really is a charming all-rounder experience.
School holiday playground sessions can include a huge variety of activities from messy play to formal baking, outdoors cooking to water slides, and painting to clay work. Plenty to do at every time of year!
