Central Park Peterborough
Peterborough, CambridgeshireAbout Central Park Peterborough
Central Park is a charming place to visit with kids with plenty of varying terrain to keep little legs moving and little minds busy. There are sunken, sensory and formal gardens to explore, an aviary to visit and flat paved nature walks suitable for pushchairs. The sensory garden is full of fragrant and tactile plants, particularly pleasing for those with sensory disabilities. Families can also enjoy the numerous playthings of the adventure playground, take a dip in the paddling pool, get gritty in the sandpit and relax in the picnic areas.
This is one to take a good kit bag for as you'll obviously need at least one change of clothes and a towel plus any outdoorsy games they like from footballs to frisbees to make the most of the space! Formal sports opportunities include bowling greens, putting green and tennis courts (grass and synthetic) but there's plenty of green space for just running about doing your own thing too.
There are lots of events to get in on that take place in the park over the course of the year, ranging from concerts and open air theatre productions, to sports courses, teddy bears picnics and family fun days! So it's well worth using our handy link to check out up and coming special occasions to add some extra zing to your day at the park!
