Imagine somewhere beautiful, safe and unspoilt where you can walk, cycle, play, enjoy watersports, ride a train, go shing, exercise the dog, jog, push the buggy and explore endless meadows, lakes and woodland: all less than 3 miles from Peterborough's busy city centre. There are three play areas catering for different ages and an events programme throughout the year with lots of activities for children including trails during school holidays and bushcraft workshops for older children.
Located within Ferry Meadows is Nene Outdoors Watersports & Activity Centre. Families can hire swan pedalos, kayaks and canoes, stand up paddle boards, row boats, and also hire bikes to explore the wider Park. In addition, Nene Outdoors operate RYA accredited youth sailing courses and lake and river boat trips that operate at weekends and daily during school holidays. Archery and climbing wall sessions are also available on selected dates throughout the year. After all this activity you can relax at one of the cafes, browse our Gift & Farm Shop, and a nice spot for a picnic or fire up one of the onsite BBQ stands.
Families can extend their visit by booking a stay at one of the two onsite campsites! Choose from the Lakeview bell tent village or opt for traditional camping on The Glade campsite. With views across Gunwade Lake and surrounded by nature, these intimate camping options offer the perfect escape, and the ideal base for sampling all the activities and events in the Park.
Before visiting Ferry Meadows take a look at the attraction's website through the link provided here or call the oce to get up to date information on available activities: some facilities are seasonal or need to be booked in advance!
