About Hide & Secrets Adventure Play at Burghley House

Get ready for epic adventures at Burghley House's exciting adventure play area, Hide & Secrets! A fantastic outdoor adventure playground near Stamford, Lincolnshire. It's a fantastic attraction for family fun and making the best memories.

Things To Do

Burghley's awesome woodland adventure play area Hide & Secrets is themed around William Cecil as the country’s first Chief Spymaster and features a series of fun-packed play zones that lead to the Hidden Towers.

Entering through a hidden stone arch in the historic grounds of Burghley House, families are transported into a magical setting that will ignite imaginations and provide endless hours of outdoor fun.

Pick up a free Spymaster’s Guide activity booklet on arrival and get ready to take on special spy missions with Cecil the Mole. Scurry through tunnels, crack the secret codes, find hidden moles and follow sneaky trails through the play area.

The Hidden Towers

Inspired by the distinctive architecture of Burghley House, the Hidden Towers play structure is packed with multi-level play, climbing walls, wobbly walkways, lookout nests and more.

You'll find two enormous slides that provide big thrills for little people and an awesome rope bridge across a deep and craggy gorge to reach a tree-top lookout platform which takes the mission to the next level. Climb, clamber, slide and explore. Imaginations will run wild.

So Much More To Explore...

From bug houses, butterfly banks and secret tunnels to woodland play and den buildings that provide a world of discovery that will enchant all ages!

Not forgetting younger children, Hide & Secrets features a dedicated toddler and pre-schooler area with a mini slide and low-level adventuring all in the same area!

Epic Adventures and Accessibility For Everyone

The whole attraction has been designed with accessibility in mind. Wide pathways, sensory walls, accessible platforms in the lower levels of the towers and accessible lookout points across the gorge mean everyone can come and play.

Food & Drink

And when it's time for a rest, refuel at The Muddy Mole, a refreshment cabin set in the heart of the Hide & Secrets action. Serving family favourites, homemade snacks and essential coffees.

The all-important loos and baby-changing facilities are also located centrally within the play area for a convenient and easy experience all around.

A Fantastic Family Day Out

The fun doesn’t stop there though! Discover more family adventures at Burghley - explore the beautiful gardens, marvel at the magnificent State Rooms in Burghley House and enjoy the surrounding parkland with acres of space for outdoor fun!
