Manchester Jewish Museum is a place to experience how we are different, together.
Our museum includes a new gallery, an award-winning vegetarian café, shop and learning studio & kitchen as well as a historic, grade II* listed 1874 Spanish & Portuguese synagogue. We hold over 31,000 items in our collection, documenting the story of Jewish migration and settlement in Manchester.

A Grade II* listed 1874 (former) Spanish and Portuguese synagogue
This beautifully restored synagogue serves as both a major museum exhibit, offering visitors an insight into a Sephardi Jewish history dating back to the 1870s, and also as a unique performance space.
A recently redeveloped, award-winning corten steel building.
Following a £6m redevelopment and extension our new museum includes a new gallery, vegetarian café, shop and learning studio & kitchen as well as complete restoration of our synagogue.

Our new café serves a contemporary vegetarian kosher-style menu using local produce and authentic Jewish and vegetarian ingredients. It was voted "Museum Cafe of the Year" 2022.

It’s not a salmon and cream cheese bagel - with vegan cream cheese, carrot lox and beef tomato.
Date, Citrus & Cinnamon Scone celebrating the Victorians’ love of afternoon tea and our Sephardi roots, we have made the favoured scone even better. Served with butter and your choice of preserve.
