Visit Rye House Gatehouse (EN11 0EH), one of the finest medieval moated sites in Hertfordshire with a vibrant history including an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate King Charles II. Great stuff for kids studying history or after an extra-curricular project!
Lee Valley Boat Centre in Broxbourne (EN10 6LX) is the ideal location for having fun on the river. Explore the River Lee on electric boats, rowing boats or pedals - what a brilliant way of cooling down and relaxing on warmer days.
