Harlow Museum & Walled Gardens
Harlow, EssexAbout Harlow Museum & Walled Gardens
The four main galleries exhibit interesting collections and interpretive displays based on the area during notable time periods, these being, Roman, Stuart and Tudor, Victorian and Modern Harlow. There is also a temporary exhibit gallery with a series of regularly changing extras.
There are Time Detectives workshops held for kids every Saturday which is a fun middle school level combination of research and archeology with lots of interesting history included. Educational, but lots of fun too, to curious kids.
For older kids there are a regular series of talks and lectures with a varying range of historically based topics, these can be an excellent supplement to their schooling and grown ups are of course welcome too.
The galleries are all on one level so there is excellent access for guests with push or wheel chairs.
The Walled Gardens provide a pleasant outdoor element to stroll through, plus there are picnic tables out there which you are welcome to use.
