For active kids there is a climbing boulder offering different levels of climbing challenge for beginners to the more advanced. A concrete bowl skatepark offers different levels for boarders, inline skaters and BMXers. The multi-use games area provides space for football and basketball too!
Plus there are 2 well equipped play areas: an under 5s play area and a challenging under 12s activity area. Both contain lots of sturdy outdoor play equipment covering the classic elements: climbing, sliding and swinging!
There is also a wide variety of habitats in the park including a lake, canal, woodland, meadow and pasture and the park has a visitors' centre near the car park where nature activities are regularly organised especially during the school holidays, although pre-booking is required.
And aside from all this of course you can take the entrainment with you if you like and just use the space: bats and balls, frisbees and boomerangs, and that great British staple the picnic lunch!
