"The beautiful Bridgewater canal, enjoy a casual walk along the canal and the pubs on the way.The walk from Lymm to Altrincham is a lovely walk along the canal path then cutting thru Dunham Massey park, the golf course and in to Altrincham, all legal paths just watch out for poor golfers!!!. Alternatively, walk the outer way to Stockton Heath, brilliant walk and enjoy a stop over/lunch in the town which is bigger than Lymm with some great pubs and restaurants etc. Its a busy canal so many boats and walkers plus the odd bike, would avoid after heavy rain, you will need walking boots in the winter as it can get very muddy but if its been a dry period light walking shoes are fine.
Overall, its free!! and its a lovely walk along the canal and open fields, plenty to see and some great photo opportunities!!!. Of course you can hire small daily canal boats and enjoy a much easier navigation of the canal!. Enjoy." Dad, Steve
