Alan and Claire Duncan, the new owners of Cheeky Monkeys (they took over in January), know a thing or two about keeping children entertained. They have four of their own, aged from three to nine!
What most of us look for from a children's indoor play area is a large and well-equipped ‘contraption' where the youngsters can run about and play at their own frantic pace, while parents or grandparents supervise from a safe distance with excellent tea or coffee, and maybe a snack. And Cheeky Monkeys fits the bill! The huge play machine is like Dr Who's Tardis in the respect that there is far more inside than there appears to be from outside.
Security is also high on Alan and Claire's list of priorities, and one of the first things they did was to fit new security doors. There is now certainty that children are unable to wander out of the building unnoticed.
The couple are also aware that some of the adults who bring children to play enjoy a cigarette. Accordingly, they have created a decking area, away from the street, where those who wish to can light up in private.
Other features? A baby area, facilities for warming bottles, baby food, newspapers and magazines, free WiFi and much more.
From the smiling faces of both staff and customers, it is safe to say that Cheeky Monkeys are Happy Monkeys!
